What Tidal energy looks like? Tidal energy looks like Giant Turbine Unlike fossil fuels, it releases clean energy while fossil fuels release carbon dioxide and other gasses that cause global warming. Shows how the gravity of the moon creates the tide and using Earths gravity to pull it back.

More images The barrage creates the flow of the tides to move the turbines. Part of the turbine. Part of a swan turbine that causes energy to flow easier.

Tidal Energy Facts Tidal energy does not emit any CO2. Tidal Power is mostly used for electricity. Tidal energy is created by the kinetic energy in the ocean waves and the potential energy in the waves. The cost of building one these tidal plants can cost between 1.3 million to 1.8 million dollars.

Advantages and disadvantages Advantages- It is more predictable than solar or wind energy. Tidal energy wont run out any time soon. Its free, non- polluting, and no waste is produced. Maintenance cost is very low Disadvantages- Even though the tides are predictable, power stations only generate power when the tide is flowing in or out of the basins, which are only at certain times of the day. To install one of these plants is very expensive.

The Impact on Public lands Negative impact 1. A lot of money is used to build ways of using tidal energy. Positive impact 1. A lot of energy is produced. 2. A little amount of money is used to fix it.

Is this technology being used globally or outside of the U.S. ? This technology is used globally because it is used throughout the United States to then continue throughout the world, where the 2006 levelized cost of tidal energy 8-12 cents/kwh and the resource type is highly predictable and highly reliable.
