ALL ABOUT SEALS By: KAYLA MARIE VINE

Seal Food There are many foods for seals. One thing, is that South American sea lions eat flying sea birds and penguins. Another one, is that seals eat small sharks and octopii.

Seal Food On page 13,it said that seals find food by swimming under ice for a very long time. For example, seal’s favorite foods are squid and medium fish. Another fact, is that walruses eat worms, crustaceans and other soft bodied animals.

Seals Food Another example, is that seals and sea lions eat fish, clams, crabs and squid. The last two foods are from the Harp seal and they eat fish and crustaceans. Those were the foods for seals, sea lions and walruses.

Special Features There are many cool special features about seals. One fact, is that seals have sensitive whiskers to detect food in murky waters. Another special features, is that seals melt ice by using there warm breath.

Special Features On page 13, it said that seals dig out of ice by using their teeth and their claws. According to the text Zoobook Seal and Sea lions, it said that Elephant seal got their name because of their trunk.

Special Features Another fact is that walruses blubber can keep them warm because their blubber is 6 inches thick. The author said that a walruses fat can weigh over 900 pounds!! The last fact, is that the male sea lion got it’s name because it had a mane like a real lion.

Special Features Those were special features of a sea lions, seals and walruses.

Habitat On Seals There are many interesting habitats for seals. The first fact, is that seals live in certain places because they can find a lot of food there. The second thing, is that Harp seals live in colonies or rookeries.

Habitat The third fact, is that sea lions and seals may live in California. A fourth thing, is that oil spills cause damage in seals, in their ear, nose and throat. A fifth fact, is that sea lions live by islands and in the Pacific Ocean.

Habitat On page 21, it said that walruses live in the North Pole because they can’t stand the heat. Another fact is that sea lions live by Africa and Russia. Those were seven facts about where sea lions, seals and walruses.

Interesting Facts There is so many interesting facts about sea lions. For example, a seal can holds it’s breath for almost a hour. Another fact, is that a walruses blubber can be 6 inches thick. One thing is that a male seal can be more then 16 in. feet long

Interesting Fact On page 8, it said that a male seal can weigh over 5000 lb. According to the text, Vegan Place .com, it said that you can find a sea lion in all the waters in the world
