Page1 Canal Boat Captain The year is 1848 and you are a canal boat captain. It is your job to transport a boat full of goods from Fort Wayne, Indiana to Evansville, Indiana. It is up to you to make sure your load makes it safely to the destination. You will have to learn important terms used on the canal, hire a crew, choose the correct load for your boat, and navigate locks. Today, we no longer use canals to ship goods, can you list at least three ways good are shipped now? Can you think of other ways goods were moved in 1848?
