This is the self-portrait of Leonardo Da Vinci… He was born in 1452 in Vinci. Leonardo was an italian polymath: painter, sculptor, architect, musician, scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist and writer. Leonardo has often been described as the archetype of the Renaissance Man, a man of "unquenchable curiosity" and "feverishly inventive imagination".

The Vitruvian Man The Vitruvian Man is one of the most world- renowned drawing created by Leonardo da Vinci. It is accompanied by notes based on the work of the famed architect, Vitruvius. The drawing, depicts a male figure in two superimposed positions with his arms and legs apart and simultaneously inscribed in a circle and square.

The Gioconda La Gioconda (also known as Mona Lisa) is a portrait painted by Leonardo Da Vinci during the Italian Renaissence. The ambiguity of the subject's expression, the monumentality of the composition, and the subtle modeling of forms and atmospheric illusionism were novel qualities that have contributed to the continuing fascination and study of the work.The image is so widely recognised, caricatured, and sought out by visitors to the Louvre that it is considered the most famous painting in the world.

Dante Alighieri The man in the coin was a major Italian poet of the Middle Ages. His Divine Comedy, originally called Commedia and later called Divina by Boccaccio, is considered the greatest literary work composed in the Italian language and a masterpiece of world literature.

Rita Levi Montalcini Rita Levi-Montalcini born in 1909 is an Italian neurologist who, together with colleague Stanley Cohen, received the 1986 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for their discovery of Nerve growth factor. Since 2001, she is an Italian senator for life. Today she is the oldest living Nobel laureate and the first ever to reach a 100th birthday.

Valentino Rossi Valentino Rossi, is an Italian professional motorcycle and multiple MotoGP World Champion. He is one of the most successful motorcycle racers of all time, with nine Grand Prix World Championships to his name – a record seven of which are in the premier class.

Luciano Pavarotti, was an Italian operatic tenor, who also crossed over into popular music, eventually becoming one of the most commercially successful tenors of all time. Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino were Italian prosecuting magistrates. From their offices in the Palace of Justice in Palermo, they spent most of their professional life trying to break the Mafia’s stranglehold on Sicily. After a long and distinguished careers, culminating in the famous Maxi Trial, they were tragically both assassinated with the use of car bombs within months of each other. They were also named as heroes of the last 60 years.

Giuseppe Garibaldi was an Italian military and political figure. In his twenties, he joined the Carbonari Italian patriot revolutionaries, and fled Italy after a failed insurrection. In Italy he led the conflicts of the Risorgimento for Italian unity with the “Thousand”.
