Pearl Harbor Attack Period 3 Jack Murphy

Facts  This is what brought the U.S. into the war  It was known as the day of infamy  We new that the Japanese were going to attack the U.S. eventually but we thought that the Japanese were going to attack the Philippines first

Facts  There was and order for a third wave to hit pearl harbor witch would have been much more destructive but the wave was never sent  If the third wave was sent then the U.S. would have taken us the full year to recover that the Japanese predicted

Facts of the U.S.  There were 2,403 dead by the end of the attack and 1,282 were wounded  December 7, 1941 at 7:53 AM  Sank four U.S. battle ships  188 aircrafts were destroyed

Facts About Japan  The Japanese losses were minimal  29 air craft’s  65 servicemen that were killed or wounded  One of them was captured
