2 What's a macro?  Macro - set of computer instructions that you can record and associate with a shortcut key combination or a macro name  Click or press shortcut key combination or the macro name, your computer program carries out the instructions of the macro  This saves you time by replacing an often-used, sometimes lengthy series of actions with a shorter action.

3 Here are some typical uses for macros: To speed up routine editing and formatting To combine multiple commands; e.g. inserting a table with a specific size and borders, and with a specific number of rows and columns To automate a complex series of tasks

4 Macro Recorder The Macro Recorder allows you to record macros. It is available in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Word

6 Let's record a simple Macro 1.On the Tools menu in Word, point to Macro, and then click Record New Macro. This displays the Record Macro dialog box 2.In the Macro name box, type a name for the macro 3.In the Store macro in box, click the location where you want to store the macro 4.In the Description box, type a description for the macro

7 Let's record a simple macro 5.Choose in assign macro to Toolbar or keyboard. Choose keyboard 6.This displays window whit customize Keyboard. In commands appear the macro’s name, in keyboard sequence press new shortcut key. e.g. Ctrl+l 7.In save changes in appear Normal. 8.In Description click Assign

8 Let's record a simple macro 9.Record the actions you want for the macro, and then on the Stop floating Recording toolbar. You can also pause or resume macro recordings using the Recording toolbar
