What does the system do? Replaces two separate CoI disclosure systems: –CoIR management system –Big Brain Conflict of Interest module (OA/Exec) All in one disclosure system that satisfies all disclosure requirements, based on role. Required disclosers: –Researchers –Faculty/managers/fiscal authority/clinicians –Executives 3
Research disclosure requirements: Satisfies requirements of revised regulations. – Your disclosure is due the earlier of: –Your regular annual CoIR disclosure date OR –By the time of your next grant award (including non-competing renewals) 4
Research disclosure requirements: New CoIR regulation also requires that researchers be trained. Integrity Booster will include required training to be completed by next grant award. Travel disclosures: late breaking news…only those with PHS funding need to submit (NIH, CDC, AHRQ, HRSA, etc). Start on compliance date effective for you. 5

Key Take-Away Points Researchers will need to do the following: –Complete the Integrity Booster after its release this summer - by the time of next grant award after 8/24/12. –Update their CoIR disclosure in the new system, either at their next annual due date, or by the time of next grant award after 8/24/12 –Submit Travel disclosures for PHS funded projects. Open to submit as soon as system released. Required by the time of next grant award after 8/24/12 The new system will walk users through what needs to be disclosed, but REMEMBER TO UPDATE DISCLOSURES WITH NEW INTERESTS 7
