Finding an Exponential Equation from Two Points

Finding an Exponential Equation: With the y-intercept and another point Find the equation of an exponential function with an asymptote at y=0 that passes through the points (0,5) and (3,320). Use our general form for an Exponential equation ( x , y ) Substitute in “a” Substitute in another point Solve for “b” Since the y-intercept is the starting point Substitute in “a” and “b” into the general equation

Finding an Exponential Equation: With any Two Points Find an exponential function that passes through (2,16) and (6,256). Substitute into either equation to find a Substitute into y=abx twice Larger exponent first ÷ Subtract Exponents Divide #s Find the Root
