The Further Education Teachers’ Qualifications (England) Regulations 2007 Those joining the sector since September 2007 should obtain appropriate qualifications and gain Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) or Associate Teacher Learning and Skills (ATLS) within 5 years Those joining the sector since September 2007 who hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from the compulsory sector, should gain QTLS status within 2 years

What are the stages involved? Stage 1 – expression of intent Use the members’ area to complete the expression of intent form Stage 2 – apply After you have expressed your intent, you will be able to access a webfolio in REfLECT Stage 3 – conferral IfL will review and comment on your application

Declaration of suitability It is essential that you print off, sign and post the ‘Declaration of suitability’. This can be found by going to: Home/Careers and CPD/Gaining QTLS or ATLS/Policy Documents and forms
