PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT

11/10/05 22 Parent Involvement2 A parent is… (300.30)  Natural or adoptive parent of a child  A foster parent  A guardian but not the state if the child is a ward of the state  An individual acting in the place of a natural or adoptive parent with who the child lives who is legally responsible for the child’s welfare

11/10/05 22 Parent Involvement3 Surrogate parent ( )  The LEA shall appoint a surrogate parent when no parent can be identified  Or be located  Or child is a ward of the state  Or child is unaccompanied homeless youth.
