 There are many important things Sunlight is one of them!  Plants get energy from the sun.  Plants need energy just like us, but a different kind of energy.  outdoors sunlight is the best type of light it has the right number rays.

 I hope so because there is more!

 Nutrients are in the soil circling the plant. Left over from dead animals, dead plants, or the left over things that animals drop. When you water your garden or your plants it looks like the soil sucks up the water. But NO! The roots actually suck the water up. The soil just helps it do so! Some plants grow good in different types of soil than other plants.

 yes is the correct answer! Plants like Aloe or Orchids can be grown without soil. Some times you can grow plants in a special type of gel. All they need is roots they work like straws. Have you ever drank some kind of liquid with a straw? Plants can’t drink with cups so they use their roots. Soil just helps.
