Tyrannosaurus Rex Nestor Ramirez

Basic Information: Tyrannosaurus Rex means “tyrant lizard king” in Latin. T-Rex Lived in the Cretaceous era about 85 million to 65 million years ago. Length - 40 feet (12.4 m) long Height - 15 to 20 feet (4.6 to 6 m) tall Weight - 5 to 7 tons T-Rex could run up to 40 mph (65 kph).

Unique Facts A T-Rex had very small arms for their enormous bodies. Their arms were about 3 feet in length and had 2 claws on each hand which is very short compared to their bodies which were about 20 feet tall and were about 40 feet long. There are many theories to why their arms were so small. One main theory is because they had enormous jaws that could rip apart anything. So over years their arms became useless and they evolved which made their arms become so small. Another reason why is because if their arms were any bigger they would tip forward and fall.

Habitat The Tyrannosaurus Rex lived in a Forest, Amazon like environment mainly because its where its prey (plant-eating dinosaurs) could find plenty of food. Which made it fairly easy for a t-rex to find its prey. It also lived nearby rivers and in coastal forested swamps. T-Rex fossils have been found in Western North America and Mongolia
