What are we going to learn about in third grade?

Plants  How do plants eat?  How do plants survive where they live? where they live?  Why are plants green and animals not? and animals not?  Do animals need plants to survive? plants to survive?  Do plants need animals to survive? animals to survive?

Animals  What are animals made up of?  Why do animals look like their parents?  What is a life cycle?  What does a polar bear have fur?  Why are some animals colorful and some are not?  Can an animal come back from being extinct?

Clouds  What do clouds look like when it storms?  How close to the Earth are storm clouds?  What are cumulus clouds?  What are clouds made of?

Planets  How many planets are there?  Is Earth bigger that Saturn?  Why do some planets have rings?  Why does the moon look different on different nights?  Why can’t people live on Mercury?

Rocks and Minerals  Are rocks magnetic?  What is the difference between rocks and minerals?  What is the hardest rock?  Why is magma red?  Why is some beach sand brown, red, pink and black?

Matter  How do you make a gas turn into a solid?  Why does water drops form on a cup with a cold rink in it?  Can a person make heat energy?

Solutions and Mixtures  How can you separate a mixture?  What properties does baking soda have?  What reaction happens when you mix baking soda with vinegar?

Sound  What is the difference between pitch and volume?  Can someone’s voice really crack a glass or window?  How do guitar strings make different sounds?
