Information A Mars rover is an Automated motor vehicle which propels itself across the surface of the planet Mars upon arrival. Rovers have several advantages over stationary landers: they examine more territory, they can be directed to interesting features, they can place themselves in sunny positions to weather winter months and they can advance the knowledge of how to perform very remote robotic vehicle control. The spacecraft flight system had a mass at launch of 8,580 lb. Rover: 408 lb. Lander: 767 lb. Back shell / Parachute: 461 lb. Heat Shield: 172 lb. The spacecraft used a high-frequency X band radio wavelength to communicate Computers: The two identical on-board computers, contain radiation-hardened memory to tolerate the extreme radiation from space and to safeguard against power-off cycles. Of the two on-board computers, one is configured as backup, and will take over in the event of problems with the main computer. The rover has an Inertial Measurement Unit that provides 3-axis information on its position, which is used in rover navigation. The rover's computers are constantly self-monitoring to keep the rover operational, such as by regulating the rover's temperature. Activities such as taking pictures, driving, and operating the instruments are performed in a command sequence that is sent from the flight team to the rover.

Military usage of remotely controlled military vehicles dates back to the first half of 20th century. John Hays Hammond, Jr., invented and patented methods for wireless control of ships starting in Soviet Red Army used remotely controlled tanks. During 1930s in the Winter War and early stage of World war II. There were also remotely controlled cutters and experimental remotely controlled planes in the Red Army. Remote control vehicles are used in law enforcement and military engagements for some of the same reasons. The exposure to hazards are mitigated to the person who operates the vehicle from a location of relative safety. Remote controlled vehicles are used by many police department bomb-squads to defuse or detonate explosives The Remote Andros F-6A is a multi-function robotics platform designed to keep bomb technicians out of harms way by remotely accessing and dealing with potentially dangerous items. The robot has the ability to traverse all sorts of terrain, manipulate objects with its robotic arm, and can sample potentially contaminated areas. Not only is “Frank” used by the Bomb Squad, but can be used by Metro S.T.A.R. as a surveillance platform during tactical operations or by Des Moines Fire Department’s Hazardous Materials Team to survey a hazardous atmosphere.

Robotic surgery, computer assisted surgery, and robotically-assisted surgery are terms for technological developments that use robotic systems to aid in surgical procedures. Robotically- assisted surgery was developed to overcome the limitations of minimally-invasive surgery and to enhance the capabilities of surgeons performing open surgery. In the case of robotically-assisted minimally-invasive surgery, instead of directly moving the instruments, the surgeon uses one of five methods to control the instruments; either a direct Tele manipulator or through computer control. A tele manipulator is a remote manipulator that allows the surgeon to perform the normal movements associated with the surgery whilst the Robotic Arms carry out those movements using end-effectors and manipulators to perform the actual surgery on the patient. In computer-controlled systems the surgeon uses a computer to control the robotic arms and its end-effectors, though these systems can also still use tele manipulators for their input. One advantage of using the computerized method is that the surgeon does not have to be present, but can be anywhere in the world, leading to the possibility for remote surgery. In the case of enhanced open surgery, autonomous instruments (in familiar configurations) replace traditional steel tools, performing certain actions (such as rib spreading) with much smoother, feedback-controlled motions than could be achieved by a human hand. The main object of such smart instruments is to reduce or eliminate the tissue trauma traditionally associated with open surgery without requiring more than a few minutes' training on the part of surgeons. This approach seeks to improve open surgeries, particularly cardio-thoracic, that have so far not benefited from minimally-invasive techniques.

An American billionaire industrialist and ingenious engineer, Tony Stark suffers a severe chest injury during a kidnapping in which his captors attempt to force him to build a weapon of mass destruction. He instead creates a powered suit of armor to save his life and escape captivity. He later uses the suit and successive versions to protect the world as Iron Man. Through his corporation-Stark Industries- Tony has created many military weapons, some of which, along with other technological devices of his making, have been integrated into his suit, helping him fight crime. Initially, Iron Man was a vehicle for Stan Lee to explore Cold War themes, particularly the role of American technology and business in the fight against communism. Subsequent re-imaginings of Iron Man have transitioned from Cold War themes to contemporary concerns, such as corporate crime and terrorism.

Assembly line robots that are programmed to build cars by placing parts in exactly the same place every time are no longer tech cool. You know what is tech cool? Assembly line robots with laser eyes that can see where parts need to go, adjust themselves to even the slightest variations in positioning, and custom fit each placement. An army of these new “seeing” robots has been installed at Ford’s Louisville Assembly Plant to install Instrument panels, windshields, roofs and fenders on the all-new Ford Escape, and they can adjust to any variations in positioning as each Escape rolls across the line to be fitted with its parts. The machines are programmed to recognize any tiny deviation from specification such as gaps between door panels or between the windshield and the vehicle body.

I think robots are helping greatly, The only disadvantage I can see is that they might be taking jobs away but other than that I do not think we could live without them.
