Essential Components Your computer depends on two things: hardware and software. Hardware are physical components that make up your computer. Software are programs or application that run on your computer. One of the major hardware components is the case which covers, or holds, the many parts of your computer. The Motherboard is also a major component. It holds and connect all the parts of your computer together. It is also the largest circuit board. Attached to the Motherboard is the Proccessor which is the brain of the computer. Other major hardware components are the internal hardrive that store data such as operating system, and the RAM a place where your current program and application your computer is running on.

Devices There are plenty of devices that can be used on a computer. External (or input) devices consist of mousepad, keyboard, and scanners. Internal(or output) devices consist of printers, monitors, and speakers.

Internet The Internet is millions of computers all around the world connected together. It is always open to everyone in the world who has a computer and a phone line. Computers on the Internet perform one of three functions: Computers that request data is called a Client. Your home computer is an example of a Client. Computers that provide data are called Servers. Computers that help information travel across the Internet is the Routers.

World Wide Web World Wide Web is an ever growing population of web pages that are all linked together. A Web Page is a document on the Web. HTML(Hyper Text Markup Language) is provided with the Web Page. It is a file, and any other related files, used for script and graphics, and often hyper links to other Web Pages. To view or visit an Web Page, you use a Web Browser. Web Browser is a software that will display a web page on your computer monitor. It also can let you open a web page by typing its address.

7 steps to make a Web Page 1) Determine the Problems, Define the Goals Most web sites are built to solve a problem or meet a need. 2) Gather Info & Research The primary goal in this step is to identify and understand the target audience. 3 ) Shape Solution, Determine Content, Choose Technology, Story board In this step should be to determine content for the site, choose technologies to use, and story board or map out the site. 4) Gather Assets Put necessary information to your website. 5) Construct Site Construct a site based upon the Site Map you have already devised. 6) Test and Improve Test out your site to see if it needs any improvement. It’s best to let other people to test it as well. 7) Publicize the Site Let other people know your site. You can publicize by search engine, newspaper ad, etc.
