Pop Music Popular music was changed in the mid- 60s mostly by the drug scene.

Music and Dance Chubby Checker introduced “the Twist” on the hit TV program American Bandstand

Bell-Bottoms Bell-bottoms were fashioned after naval uniforms bellbottoms became the fashion statement of the bohemian sector of young society in the late 1960's. They also became a prominent symbol of the wildly stylish 1970's. Made of denim, the popularity of the pants was enormous, however, they were unavailable in many parts of the country where they were seen as too much of a fashion statement.

TIE-DYE T-SHIRTS The origins of Tie-dye T- shirts are believed to have begun in Nigeria where women would tie cotton fabrics into knots and then dip them into dyes Popularity of the Tie-Dye T-shirt took off in the 1960s during the hippie/peace movement.
