History -About 100 years ago, it was just a little sea-side town. -Many foreign businesses soon snatched up property in this prime area, and the town of Shanghai flourished into a booming city! -Back then, they were receiving many typhoons. Because of this, the municipal government decided to build a levee along the shoreline to protect the Bund.

Things to Do in the Shanghai Bund Here are a few things you can do in the Shanghai Bund: - Visit the Beautiful Yuyuan Garden - Visit the Jade Buddha temple - Take a bike tour - Take a boat tour - Or, shop at one of its many stores!

Fun Facts Some fun facts about the Shanghai Bund, are: In the Bund, there is museum dedicated to the history of the Bund. There is one place you can go to, where you take a ride through a some kind of a tube. This tube takes you to the other side of the Bund, across the river. By the 1920’s and 1930’s, Shanghai was probably the most important city in Asia.
