Today my class is learning about transportation.

Transportation is a way to move from one place to another.

People use maps to find their destination. This is a map of my school.

My teacher says that there are different ways to travel. Air Water Land

Some people use their own vehicles do complete daily activities. Mom drives her car to the grocery store.

Some people do not own a vehicle. They travel in a taxi cab. A taxi cab driver brings people around town all day and night.

Sometimes people travel on a bus just like me. I ride the bus back and forth to school every day.

Some people ride buses when they want to travel to far away places. My aunt went on vacation. She rode a bus to California last summer.

Another form of transportation is a train. A train travels over land. It can carry heavy loads. Trains are used to bring materials across the USA.

Riding on a boat is another way of traveling. Ships carry supplies for large companies. The Navy uses battleships to carry helicopters.

When someone ride on an airplane they are usually traveling to places far away. My teacher told us that she once flew to France.
