Post-Trip: Partners on a Journey Build churches and friendships Communicate and Stay Connected with new friends from Work and Witness both on field and at home Communicate to home about your trip Debrief with Team and Reunions Become Partners on future projects Facebook –tag pictures, wall posts, have fb use translation tools, fb or ichat tools, group pages Pictures and Video can say more in seconds than we can share in an hour (youtube channels, flickr, fb, vimeo, etc) Skype/free conference call resources, Follow or connect on Twitter, instagram,Linked in, skype, or facebook

Best Practices Decide what you want to accomplish Clearly articulate objectives in group pages Keep it simple and fun Cultural Awareness: Can I share your information/story? Is the ministry site safe to post? Does my information translate cross-culturally? Know your audience- who are your stakeholders? Remember social media is not for social media sake. It is a tool to be used for the greater purpose. Don’t be consumed with the technology. “Don’t major on the minors.” Start with creating a facebook group page.

Questions What is your biggest need in developing your work and witness trip? How would social media help this need? What tool do you see yourself or your team using the most?
