Maintenance and Operations These careers are responsible for maintaining the quality of the structures planned, designed and built works in architecture and pre-construction. Occupations include: some positions are geared towards the scheduling and planning of maintenance, while others may be involved with monthly physical labor such as boiler makers or HVAC technicians, equipment operators, millwrights and thermal control technicians. Tasks & Responsibilities Examine boilers, pressure vessels, tanks and vats to locate leaks, weak spots, etc. Repair or replace defective heating and air conditioning equipment, components or wiring, defective parts. Collaborate with environmental scientists, planners, hazardous waste technicians, engineers and other specialists.
