ClassConstitution

Class Constitution Over the course of this week, we have been working on building a classroom community. As a class, we will make our classroom expectations. This is a team effort! This isn’t my classroom; this is OUR classroom

Student Responsibilities

One time class attendance Planners filled out daily Complete class assignments and homework on time Good behavior choices/follow classroom agreements Projects and materials Reading log UP library books and classroom library books Clean and organized desks and lockers Responsible behavior in auditorium, hallway, cafeteria, specials, recess, science lab, and classroom

How Parents Can Best Support Responsible Behavior

Find a safe place for school items at home. Decide on the best time and place to complete homework. Arrive to school on time. Contact Miss Atkinson if you have ANY questions or concerns!!!! Check planner with child regularly Encourage your child to READ, READ, READ!!!! Send back Thursday folders on Friday Set academic goals with your child

Homework

Homework Students will write their assignments in their planner each night. It will be signed with my initials if they have written everything down. Planners need to be signed every night by a parent. Students should be reading AT LEAST 20 minutes a night (record in reading log). This will increase to minutes a night. Students will be given a Daily Six Math Review every Thursday night in preparation for the quiz on Friday. Other assignments like spelling, science, writing, etc may come home on a needs basis. Unfinished classwork becomes homework.

Make-Up Work

Your child will be given one day per excused illness absence to complete their make-up work. If you child will be on vacation, no make-up work will be provided. All of this information is listed in our Parent/Student Handbook. k.pdf

Grading Policy

The students will receive a Ticket Menu (stays in their binder all year long) as to what rewards they can “buy” with their tickets. It is the student’s responsibility to keep track of their tickets. I will not replace lost tickets.
