Alignment of Personal and Organizational Goals The Mission of the Agency should be broken down to specific goals. Goals should be specific enough to be “transferred” to departmental levels, team levels, and individual level. Personal goals should be aligned with organizational goals. Alignment of goals lead to performance and satisfaction. The alignment of goals will require different degrees and types of intervention.

Goal Moderators Goal Importance Goal Commitment Task Complexity Feedback Reward Structure Self-Efficacy

Influencing the Goal Moderators Leaders at all levels can and should positively influence goal moderators. Move from Transactional leadership to transformational leadership Transactional Leadership is based on performance for reward transactions. Transformational leadership seeks to change the environment of the workplace. This is more proactive in nature. This requires having a vision of what the organization could be.

Influencing the Goal Moderators Goal Setting and Planning presupposes a visionary outlook for the organization and thus change. We cannot keep doing the same thing and expecting different results. This requires transformation by those in leadership positions.
