 Compare views of the book, Uncle Tom’s Cabin, between Northerners and Southerners by listing at least 3 differences between the two  Identify the one view that was similar among both Northerners and Southerners Objectives

 Southerners felt that Uncle Tom’s Cabin presented the wrong perspective of slavery  Southerners criticized the book because they favored slavery  Many writers protested by writing books and articles presenting an opposite view of Uncle Tom’s Cabin Views from the South

 Northerners greatly praised Uncle Tom’s Cabin for validating their views on slavery  Northerners were angered even more at the cruelties of slavery, causing a further split between the North and South  The North became more eager to end slavery Views from the North
