Fennec fox BY: Eva and Aleah

Life span and habitat  The life span of a fennec fox is years  The fennec lives in the arid desert, North Africa, and throughout the Sahara desert.

What are Fennec Foxes  Fennec foxes are mammals that have very large ears that are bat like and are six inches longs (that’s what they are known for.) They are also canines (which is what a dog is.)They are compared to the normal foxes because of there tails. They also think that 68 degrees is freezing. They are also they smallest wild canine.

What do they eat?  They eat plants, eggs, reptiles, and insects. They eat basically whatever they find. They find food at night, If it sees a slight movement in the grass they jump on it.

Predator, pray, or both  They are both predator and pray because they do eat insects but coyotes also eat them.

Camouflage  There thick fur will hide them because it blinds in with all the plant and grass so they can hide from predators and they can also sneak up on there pray.

Are Fennec Foxes endangered.  Yes they are endangered. But the sad thing is that humans are not helping them because they are the ones that threated them and they but they are not hunting them for there meat they want there fur so that’s why they are being hunted and endangered.

How do they live? COMMUNICATION?  The Fennec fox is very shy and may bite when it feels threatened or wants to be left alone. They usually live in small communities,( ten to twelve individuals.) They bark when they are upset or threatened. They also yelp and purr.

Do they carry disease  They carry disease sometimes. Most of their diseases are tuberculosis, RABIES, Intestinal PARASITES.

FUN FACTS!!! TThey can dig up to twenty feet underground at night. TThey are the smallest fox in the family of canines.

Fennec Foxes are GREAT pets too!!!  Fennec Foxes are also pets. They will be very good pets because they know how to use a litter box if you train them. Also they are very social animals.
