The red fox is red and orange. It has fur on it’s back, the head, also the sides. On the neck and chest there’s white. They even have black on their fur. They have a bushy, pointed, white tail and black ears. Also, they weigh about 12 pounds [5 kilograms].

The babies are kits and they can’t howl but they yap. The girl usually has 1 to 10 kits in 2 months.

They live in the forest with food and water. There’s tall trees and little bits of grass.

They eat birds, fruit, chipmunks, rabbits, and mice.

Men hunt foxes. Wolves eat foxes as well as bobcats,cougar, and some coyotes!

The red fox walks along logs and it blends in with the snow in winter.

The fox lives to 12 years.

We like it because it pounces on animals It’s special because it snatches the animal with it’s sharp claws.
