The Moon!

What do you know about the moon? It changes shape!

The Moon Changes Shape?!

Facts About the Moon It is made of rock. It does NOT glow in the dark – it shines at night with help from the sun. The light from the sun bounces off the moon’s surface and shines into your eyes.

How?! The moon does NOT change shapes. It changes phases. Phases are caused by the moon’s position to the sun.

What are the names of the 8 phases? Waxing: the moon is getting LARGER Waning: the moon is getting smaller **Moon Sticks!**

How Can I Remember the Difference between Waxing and Waning? Moon on the right, getting bigger every night (waxing). When the moon is waning, it is fading to the left until there’s no moon remaining.
