The Four Seasons Shalee Lucero

Here in the United States, our year is divided into four separate seasons. Those seasons include summer, autumn (fall), winter, and spring. We have seasons because the Earth moves around the Sun over the course of the year, and that causes the weather to change which means we are entering a new season. During each season, the amount of sunlight that is directed towards Earth changes. So in summer we get more sunlight, and in winter we get less. In this presentation, we will discuss all four of the different seasons, and how things change during each.

Summer Summer includes the warmest months of the year, and is between spring and autumn. June, July, and August are the months in summer. There are a lot of fun activities that are enjoyed during summertime. Those activities can include: boating, hiking, swimming, camping, picnics, bbq's, and playing sports. A lot of families choose to take their vacations during the summer months, since most schools are on summer vacation.

Autumn Autumn, also known as fall, comes after summer and takes us into winter. September, October, and November are the months of fall. The leaves start changing colors and the air becomes cooler during the autumn months. Activities that you can do during autumn include playing football, jumping in leaves, hayrides, pumpkin carving, and trips to the corn mazes.

Winter In winter, the weather becomes much cooler and in a lot of areas, snow begins to fall. The winter time is after fall and before spring. December, January, and February are the months we associate with winter. There are several activities during the winter that include: sledding, skiing, snowboarding, building a snowman, and ice skating. There are also a lot of holidays during the winter, which is why a lot of people love this season.

Spring Springtime is after winter, and the weather starts to warm up a bit. The spring months are March, April, and May. Activities you can enjoy during the spring are planting trees or flowers, picnics, kite flying, and playing in the rain. This is the time of year when flowers start blooming again, and animals come out of hibernation from the winter season.
