Objective to becoming a Veterinarian My reasons for becoming a veterinarian is because I love animals. Who: Tylicia Williams What: Diagnose and treat diseases and dysfunctions of animals. May engage in a particular function, such as research and development, consultation, administration, technical writing, sale or production of commercial products, or rendering of technical services to commercial firms or other organizations. Includes veterinarians who inspect livestock. When: 7 years after high school Where: U.S. ARMY VETERINARY CORPS Why: I love animals because one day I saw a bird dying on the street I brought it home to take care of it and we helped it and left it fly away once the wing healed which was a few months later.
Skills and attributes Spatial, Nature, and Body Movement Spatial: I would need a lot of space in the operating room and facility as it caters to many different animals. Nature: When animals get hurt usually they get hurt out side especially wild animals so they can`t come to me so the only option would be to go out to them in the wild. Body Movement: You need to be able to move around a lot especially when dealing with rough animals that would fight when needed to be treated.
My Abilities Veterinary Assistants and Laboratory Animal Caretakers: Nature: When helping animals I can use my ability of Nature which would be to help animals of all type of wild animals like the elephants, cheetah, tigers, lions, giraffes, coyote, bobcats, and etc. Those wild animals are all prey to some kind of species and they all have prey so they are getting hurt all the time.
My Abilities Veterinary Assistants and Laboratory Animal Caretakers: Body Movement: When dealing with animals of all sorts you need to use a lot of body movement and be fast with that body movement like a reflex because when animals are really sick or even dying they need special care and sometimes they fight back by biting, scratching, or even attack you. They might also run away from the facilities room so you need to have a Veterinarian Assistant by your side through the whole process even if its just a check-up.
My Abilities Veterinary Assistants and Laboratory Animal Caretakers: Spatial: When operating on any animal in a facility or performing a check-up on the animals in the regular/normal and usual rooms you would need space. Animals are very viscous when they want to be and dangerous at that; so if you are performing even the slightest thing on the animals you would need a lot of space to insure that both human and animal in the room dont get injured or seriously hurt.
Job Weaknesses My Weakness is Negotiation. I would have to work on that though because that is a social skill and to work as a veterinarian you need to be extremely social and friendly also you need to be polite especially to your costumers. Remember costumers always com first. I plan to improve my negotiation by starting with my personality because I know my personality is kind of rude when I want it to be so I would have to change that and from there I would figure out what else I need to do.
Job Strengths My strength`s are varied but there are five main groups in which these strengths may lay in. Those groups are Resource Management Skills, System Skills, Technical Skills, Complex Problem Solving, and last but certainly not least Basic skills. I have all five of those skills that would get me to be a great and helpful veterinarian. The only skill I am missing is negotiation and with this skill and all five of those skills I already have they will get me to be a good veterinarian.
