What's In My Computer By: Jose Olivences

Power Supply The computers power supply is defiantly one of the most important things in the computer. Whit out any power how would the computer work? The computers power supply is like a humans heart, but instead of pumping blood it send power to the computers vital organs.

The Motherboard The motherboard is a housing for many of the small important components of the computer. It makes connecting al the little things easier.

The hard Drive The hard drive a storage device, it holds all the memory of the computer. When you save pictures or music or even visit websites, the information from the sites and the picture all save to the hard drive. The hard drive has discs in it that store the memory through magnetic energy.

The CPU (Central Processing Unit) The CPU is like the computers brain, it tell it what to do any when to do it. The CPU carries the commands and directs the computer on what to do.

RAM (Random Access Memory) All computers have a space for ram sticks on the motherboard. Ram is a source of memory that allows files to be shown and open in and order. It lets u access things easier and faster. The more ram your computer has, the faster it is.

USB Slots The USB slots are used for a lot of different things. The most common thing is transporting data to or from the computer. It is also used for charging cell phones of any other thing like that.

The Video Card The Video card is responsible for processing the images and other media that comes through the computer. this controls all the media to and from the computer.

The Fan The fan is responsible for cooling the computer. It cools air inter the casing of the computer. Most computers have two different fans in them. This fan cools all the components and keeps the shell of the computer cool.

The Heat Sink The heat sink is kind of like a radiator on a car, some of them are liquid cooled and some are air cooled. The liquid ones use cold water to cool the metal of the heat sink then a fan blows the heat sink and that gives of cold air and helps to cool the computer.

The DVD Drive The DVD Drive reads CD’s for music or DVD’s for video. Some DVD drives can even burn DVD’s and CD’s. this allows you to be able to make your own CD’s

Keyboard Mouse The keyboard and the mouse connect to the video card. They are like remotes to the television. You controlee everything you do on the computer from the keyboard and mouse.

The Monitor The monitor also hooks up to the video/graphic card. The monitor displays every thing you do on the computer.
