Economy  Farming in Algeria is not as important to the economy as what it used too.  7th in world in oil production  the Algerian economy has seen significant changes in the recent years form the discovery of oil.

Geography  Four times the size of Texas  Algeria is bordered on the west by Morocco and Western Sahara and on the east by Tunisia and Libya.  Algeria consists of a massive area extensively dissected into mountains, plains, and basins.

Culture  The Algerian family is important and private. It often includes three or more generations in a single home  Arabic is Algeria's primary language and is spoken by around 82% of the population  Most Algerian families have 4 or 5 children

Recreation  Football (soccer) is the most popular sport in Algeria  Surfing is becoming more popular, especially in the eastern region of Algeria.  Women participate in sports, especially track, but less often than men.
