I am going to talk about a book called the ‘ The Magic Finger’ by Roald Dahl.

The family next to Matilda’s house was the family of the Greggs. They had two children. They were called Philip that was eight years old and William that was eleven years old. They loved killing animals.

When Matilda went school, Mrs. Winter asked Matilda to spell cat. She spelled K-A-T. Mrs. Winter told her that she was a stupid girl. Matilda got cross and she saw red. And then she pointed her magic finger and at once she saw Mrs. Winter with whiskers and a black bushy tail. The children began to laugh.

Then she went home and saw the Gregg family shooting birds. They killed six birds. Then Matilda saw that she put her magic finger up. The next day, when the Gregg family woke up, they found that they were as tiny as a little cat. When they noticed, they found that they didn’t have arms instead they had wings. Even William and Phillip had wings. They went out and began to fly.

When they were flying, some big ducks that looked like people went into the Gregg’s house. At night the Gregg family didn’t know what to do. They said that if any window was open they could go inside. But no door or window was open. What would they do?
