Presentation transcript:

 When? This Friday, January 18th  What time? 1 pm  For how long? We will be there for 2 hours!  Who gets to go? All Big 3 students in PRR!  How will we get there? Both Lincoln and Blackhurst PRR kids will ride a school bus together to the Science Center.

 PRR will visit all the free galleries which include things for kids to touch and do to learn about science.  The Science Center is such a big place, we probably won’t be able to do everything!

 There are many things to do and see at the Science Center.  Many things requires people buy a ticket to go in to explore, we will have tickets for the Wildlife Rescue Exhibit. This special exhibit will only be at the Science Center for a short time.  We will not be visiting the Omnimax or Planetarium theaters or Discovery Room this time.

The Science Center expects all guests:  to walk inside the building, there are a lot of people there  to follow directions of signs at each exhibit  to not touch the dinosaurs (why do you think people should not touch the dinosaurs?)

PRR expects all students on the field trip to:  Stay with your group and assigned adult  To show fellow PRR students kindness and respect (take turns, kind words)  Older kids to read about the exhibits to younger kids  Sit on the bus facing forward, talk softly  Follow all directions of PRR teachers first time asked!!!

 Be Safe! You must stay in sight of your PRR Leader at all times.  Be respectful! Follow your PRR Leader’s instructions at all times!  Be safe! If someone has to go to the rest room, every one in the group has to go to the rest room so PRR adults can supervise everyone at all times! Thank you!!

 When we leave school for learning events, we represent not only Project Read and Reach but our whole school to the outside world.

 It is a horrible feeling to be asked to never come back again because of not showing respect to others and the Science Center!

 It is an outstanding feeling to earn a compliment and an invitation to come back to the Science Center!

 Here is a learning goal:  See if you can find out what these words mean at the Science Center:  Fossils  Paleontology  Archeology  Human Senses  Structures  Endangered Species

When you get back to school…..  Write a journal about something new you learned at the Science Center and or draw a picture explaining your topic. You may write about more than one idea.  Write or draw about something at the Science Center you’d like to learn more about!
