“By Faith Moses Endured” Open to Hebrews 11 - May God’s Word work it’s power in your life today Just finished singing song “I will wait” - written from Isa 40 – perhaps one of the top ten verses known in our day. Draw you to what we just sang (Next slide) “By Faith Moses Endured” Hebrews 11:27 Pg 1068 In Church Bibles

The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth Draws our attention to see God See His presence – everywhere – omnipresence See His Power – never weary – omnipotence See His understanding – full, perfect – omniscience Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. Isaiah 40:28

He gives power to the weak, See His action – He gives strength to those who need it Others, outside of His strength – even the best of men, The youngest and most agile…grow weary and fail He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, Isaiah 40:29-30

But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; Those who depend on God, who look to God, trust in Him These are strengthened They mount up with wings like eagles - picture of spreading out wings – ridding the wind - the wind is not their doing or power – yet drawing from it - gaining power – ability through leaning on the Wind If we do this – we will gain the strength we need for today Sometimes life is a run – crazy busy Task list is long…life seems busier than ever To you – if lean on Him, draw from His strength – you can run…and not be weary, not exhausted Sometimes life is a walk – slow…so slow progress To me…walking in life is harder than running Slow…so slow…hard to do Yet if we lean on Him – won’t faint – give up Today…we look at such an instance in Moses life Maybe…it is right where some of us are…. But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Read Hebrews 11:27 First question for us – is what is this talking about? When does this refer to in Moses life? Answer – is actually debated by good Bible students At least two or three possibilities I have my opinion and will show you…but also point to others First – we need to get a view of Moses life Turn to Exodus 2

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. 1 Timothy 1:17

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse Romans 1:20

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. Romans 1:18-19

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes…For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” . Romans 1:16-17

For we were saved in this hope Romans 8:24-25

For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? Romans 8:24-25

For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. Romans 8:24-25

while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. 2Cor 4:18; 5:7

For we walk by faith, not by sight. while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2Cor 4:18; 5:7

And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Hebrews 6:11-12

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. James 1:2-4

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. James 1:2-4

God Moves in Mysterious Ways By William Cowper (1731-1800) God moves in a mysterious way, His wonders to perform; He plants His footsteps in the sea, And rides upon the storm. Deep in unfathomable mines Of never failing skill, He treasures up His bright designs, And works His sovereign will.

God Moves in Mysterious Ways By William Cowper (1731-1800) Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take, The clouds ye so much dread are big with mercy, and shall break In blessings on your head. Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, But trust Him for His grace; Behind a frowning providence, He hides a smiling face.

God Moves in Mysterious Ways By William Cowper (1731-1800) His purposes will ripen fast, Unfolding every hour; The bud may have a bitter taste, But sweet will be the flower. Blind unbelief is sure to err, And scan His work in vain; God is His own interpreter, And He will make it plain.

Indeed we count them blessed who endure. James 5:11

Indeed we count them blessed who endure Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord James 5:11

Indeed we count them blessed who endure Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful. James 5:11
