Romeo and Juliet By: Louella LePage

Background on Shakespeare W illiam Shakespeare was an English poet and play writer. He is often called England's national poet and the “bard of Avon”. Shakespeare was born and raised in Stratford-upon-Avon. At the age of 18 he married Anne Hathaway and they had three children. Between 1585 and 1592, he began a successful career in London Chamberlain’s Men, later known as the King’s Men. He appears to have retired to Stratford around 1613, where he died three years later.

Romeo and Juliet art I think the Romeo and Juliet art is beautiful and really well done. I looks like a lot of time was put into them all.

Romeo and Juliet in film I liked the films actors (especially Romeo). I think they all did a very good job at this play in the movie though.

Modern adaptations A modern adaptation of Romeo and Juliet is a video based on it but in modern time with Leonardo Dicaprio and Clair Danes.

Text to text This text is a lot different then any other book I have read before. But I liked the story a lot even though it was hard to read on some parts.

Text to world The text does relate to the world because its talking about love and there are people everywhere that love each other/ would die for each other.

Text to self connections Nothing in this text has really happened to me, but I feel that maybe if I was in the same position I would act the same. If I met somebody I really loved that much but our families were feuding, I would find a way to be with them anyway probably.
