Some important things to look for when researching Alternative/Private Loan Lenders: Co-signers are required for most students. What are their current interest rates? Are they fixed or variable? What are the terms and how do the rates vary? Are lower rates offered with a co-signer? Is there any penalty for early repayment? You can borrow up to your EFC per term.
