We will:  Speak in complete sentences about favorite and least favorite movie genre.  Correctly use emotional words to describe each movie.

 Genre – type; kind; sort; style.  Emotion – feelings (i.e. happy, sad, etc.)  Movie Trailer – a commercial for a movie.  Synonyms – Words that mean the same thing. For example, movie and film are.

Guessing Quiz I will show you some movie posters. Chose one genre to describe the movie. I will only call on a group once everyone’s hand is raised. Use complete sentences. Ready?!?!?!?

-ed OR –ing? bored OR boring? horrified OR horrifying? entertained OR entertaining ?

 -ed = emotions; yours or another persons.  How are you?  I’m excited! There is no class tomorrow!  -ing = Things that cause emotions  The roller coaster was exciting.

 The students are bored.  The professor is boring.

 The audience is entertained.  The magician is entertaining.

 This shark is horrifying.  This woman is horrified.

 How are you? I am scared.  For example:  This child is scared.  Scary is what is making you scared.  For example:  This teacher is scary.

 Fun is something that you do.  For example:  Playing basketball is fun.  My day has been fun.  I had fun.  Funny is something you see or hear that makes you laugh.  For example:  The Infinity Challenge is funny.  My friend is funny.  X ! NOT ! I had funny.

 Sad is used for the emotion.  How are you?  I am sooooo sad. T-T  Sad is also used for the thing that causes the emotion.  That movie was so sad.
