P OMPEY ’ S WIVES …  Aemilia In 82 B.C., Sulla persuaded Pompey to divorce Antistia in order to remarry his stepdaughter, Aemilia. At the time, Aemilia was pregnant by her husband, M. Acilius Glabrio. She didn’t want to marry Pompey, but did so, anyway, and soon died in childbirth.

P OMPEY ’ S WIVES Mucia Q. Mucius Scaevola was the father of Pompey's 3rd wife, Mucia, they had a daughter, Pompeia, and two sons, Gnaeus and Sextus. Pompey divorced Mucia. Q. Mucius Scaevola († c. 115 BC) was a prominent Roman politician and jurist.

POMPEY One of the things attributed to Pompey was Pompey the Great's theatre, dedicated in 55 BC on the Campus Martius.

STORY  Caesar decided that Pompey needed to get kicked out of his position of power, and Pompey thought the same of Caesar. Crassus, who had been watching their struggle, ready to take on the winner himself, had been killed in Parthia so they didn’t have to worry about him.  It was only recently that Pompey had come to fear Caesar. Up until this time he had only despised him. It was through his own influence, he thought, that Caesar had grown great, and it would be just as easy to put him down as it had been to raise him up. Caesar won the fight.

FACTS Sulla gave him the nickname Magnus Lucius Cornelius Sulla Felix, known commonly as Sulla, was a Roman general and statesman. He had the distinction of holding the office of consul twice, as well as that of dictator official nomenclature~ CN·POMPEIVS·CN·F·SEX·N·MAGNVS o His full name is Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus
