On average, 2 women a week are killed by a current or former male PARTNER

On average, a woman is assaulted 35 times before her first call to the police

31% women have experienced domestic abuse since the age of 16 years.

In 2011 & 2012, the police reported nearly 800,000 incidents of domestic violence

If the police believe that an assault has occurred then they can arrest the abuser without the victim having to press charges against the abuser
