ZEELAND EAST-CITYSIDE MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS SOCCER SUMMER/FALL 2015 ZEELAND EAST CHIX ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT

COACHES 7 TH GRADE HEAD SOCCER COACH: TBA AT LATER DATE 8 TH GRADE HEAD SOCCER COACH: SAM TERLAAN

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS  Boys entering into 7 th or 8 th grade for the school year.  Student athlete must be enrolled at the school where they plan to participate in athletics for the school year. (Exception: Zeeland Quest)  Physical is REQUIRED and MUST BE on file with school before student athlete is allow to participate in organized try-outs, practices, and games. (Not required for Summer Soccer Open Fields, Conditioning, PSV Camp, or ZEST)  Boys participating in school soccer are not allowed to participate in any CLUB SOCCER program directly during the boys middle school soccer season in the fall. However boys are allowed to participate in other club sports (Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, Ect.) directly during the boys middle school soccer season in the fall.  Student athlete must meet all state and school academic requirements to be eligible to participate in school athletics.

TRY-OUT INFORMATION  Try-outs start on Tuesday August 25, 2015 (week before school starts)  Try-outs and practices during the entire season will be at the MS Soccer Complex.  Try-out schedule is as follows:  Tuesday August 25, 2015: 4:00PM-6:00PM  Wednesday August 26, 2015: 4:00PM-6:00PM  Thursday August 27, 2015: 4:00PM-6:00PM  Friday August 28, 2015: 4:00PM-6:00PM  Teams will be finalized no later than Friday August 28, 2015

SEASON INFORMATION  Practices will be after school from 3:15PM-5:15PM on days that we do not have games. (Mostly Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays)  First game is scheduled on Tuesday September 8, 2015 (Away Game VS. Zeeland West-Creekside)  Games will be on mostly Tuesdays and Thursdays (One or two games maybe scheduled on Monday or Wednesday)  Transportation is provided to and from away games. (Players must ride bus to away games! Exception: PATH or other case by case circumstances)  Season finishes around middle to end of October.

SUMMER OPEN FIELDS  This summer there will be open field sessions for Cityside MS boys at the Zeeland East HS soccer complex (across the street from Zeeland East HS; next to Zeeland Stadium) on Monday and Wednesday nights.  Please see Summer Soccer Schedule Handout for exact Dates and Times.  Open field sessions are not mandatory to attend but are highly recommended to attend.

ZEST (ZEELAND EAST SOCCER TRAINING)  ZEST is a new summer conditioning program being offered this summer exclusively to Zeeland East HS/Cityside MS Soccer Players only.  ZEST is an alternative summer conditioning program for soccer athletes only that replaces The EDGE option that is currently offered to all Zeeland East Athletes.  Please see Zeeland East Soccer Speed, Agility & Skills Training Camp Handout for complete information.  ZEST is not mandatory but is highly recommended.

ZEELAND EAST-PSV EINDHOVEN CAMP  When: July 27-31, 2015; 9:00AM-12:00PM  Where: Zeeland East HS Soccer Complex  Cost: $100  What: Summer camp offered by the Zeeland East Boys HS Soccer Program, camp is run by PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands) Staff. Great opportunity for boys to be taught and coached by coaches from Europe.  Registration Deadline: July 3, 2015 (Registration form and payments mailed to Coach Kamstra)  It is highly recommended and highly encouraged for boys interested in playing MS soccer to attend this camp if possible.
