Names of Tribes The Iroquois tribes names were Cayuga, Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Tuscarora, and Seneca.

Where they lived They lived in what is now upstate New York between the Mountains and Niagara Falls. The land was forestry and cold. They lived in longhouses that were up to 150 feet long and can hold up to 12 families.

How did they decide where they lived They decided where to live by resources. One resource was food like corn, beans, and squash. Another resource they need was water. They would need to live by a stream, river, lake, or pond. The last resource is shelter. There resource for that was wood and Elm bark.

Compare and Contrast Iroquois People today The Iroquois are givers. The Iroquois are cooperative. We both use the same resources We both live in the U.S.A We are savers. We are competitive. We both use the same resources We both live in the U.S.A

Facts “The number of the representatives was Onondaga 14, Cayuga 10, Oneida 9, Mohawk 9,and Seneca 8.” “After 1722 the Tuscarora tribe was added to the Iroquois league but as a non-voting member.” “The population of the of all the tribes was less than 2,000 people.” “The Iroquois name was given to them by there enemies.” “There language was called Iroqian.”

Wrap up “We learned that the Iroquois was the best tribe in North America because they discovered the most resources.” We are still wondering why they lived in the Woodland region instead of any other region. “
