TYPES OF ACTIVITIES - PRESCHOOL / GROUP ACTIVITY FOR ENROLLED CHILDREN BETWEEN THE AGES OF 1-5 YEARS - FAMILY DAYCARE / IN-HOME CARE WHERE A CHILDMINDER TAKES CARE OF CHILDREN - THREE-FAMILY SYSTEM / IN-HOME DAYCARE WHERE A CHILDMINDER TAKES CARE OF THE CHILDREN OF TWO OR THREE FAMILIES AT THEIR OWN PLACE OF DOMICILE - OPEN PRESCHOOL / EDUCATIONAL GROUP ACTIVITIES FOR STAY-AT-HOME PARENTS TOGETHER WITH PRESCHOOL STAFF

OBJECTIVITY AND COMPREHENSIVENESS - CHILDREN SHOULD BE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY OF FORMING OWN OPINIONS AND MAKING OWN CHOICES - PARENTS SHOULD FEEL FULLY CONFIDENT THAT THEIR CHILDREN WILL NOT BE PREJUDICED IN FAVOUR OF ANY PARTICULAR VIEW - STAFFS SHOULD SHOW RESPECT FOR THE INDIVIDUAL AND HELP CREATE A DEMOCRATIC CLIMATE IN THE PRE-SCHOOL

TASKS OF THE PRESCHOOL - LAY THE FOUNDATIONS FOR LIFELONG LEARNING - PROVIDE GOOD PEDAGOGICAL ACTIVITIES ADAPTED TO THE NEEDS OF THE CHILDREN - HELP FAMILIES BY SUPPORTING THEM IN THEIR PARENTAL ROLE - SUPPORT AND DEVELOP TRUST AND SELF-CONFIDENCE - PROVIDE AN UNDERSTANDING OF CULTURAL DIVERSITY

TASKS OF THE PRESCHOOL - ENCOURAGE DIFFERENT FORMS OF EXPRESSION SUCH AS PICTURES SONG AND MUSIC DRAMA RHYTHM DANCE AND MOVEMENT - PUT EMPHASIS ON ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES NATURE AND CONSERVATION - PROVIDE A WELL-BALANCED DAILY RYTHM BETWEEN CARE AND REST - ALLOW CHILDREN TO SWITCH ACTIVITIES DURING THE COURSE OF THE DAY BOTH INDOORS AND OUTDOORS

CO-OPERATION PRESCHOOL- CLASS / SCHOOL / LEISURE TIME CENTRE - COOPERATION SHOULD BE BASED ON NATIONAL AND LOCAL GOALS AND SUPPORT THE CHILD’ S ALL-ROUND DEVELOPMENT AND LEARNING - SPECIAL ATTENTION SHOULD BE GIVEN TO CHILDREN IN NEED OF SPECIAL SUPPORT WHEN TRANSITING FROM PRESCHOOL TO SCHOOL - THE WORK TEAMS FROM PRESCHOOL ARE EXPECTED TO EXCHANGE THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCES WITH SCHOOL AND LEISURE TIME CENTRE STAFFS
