What are the two types of sexual harassment? A. Hostile Environment: Innocent flirtation – unwelcome sexual conduct pervasive B. Quid Pro Quo Sexual Harassment: giving in to unwelcome sex conduct is made a term of employment. Foundation in Environmental harassment.

Co-worker talks all the time on the phone about love life and disrupts co-workers concentration/space. AND copies sexually explicit cartoons at fax machine. Hostile Environment Sexual Harassment: unwelcome, sexual conduct that creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive work environment where it interferes with job performance, it can be physical, verbal or visual; no sexual relations need be involved. Conclusion about this type of sexual harassment?

New girl on job uses her “sexuality” to get acceptance and help. He takes this as an invitation to get closer. Sexual Harassment complaints are: increasingly stressful, emotionally painful and often devastatingly costly for all individuals. Repercussions can last a life time.

Lady on probation is told her success on probation depends on her going out with the supervisor.

She charges boss with sexual harassment to mess him up when she didn’t get the promotion.

What can you do to avoid Sexual Harassment? Know what SH is and remember your boundaries must be clearly set. Confront anyone who steps past your boundaries and document it Be familiar with policies and procedures File a complaint with HR. The company will always analyzed the situation from point of view of the VICTIM.
