Mexicans share many traditions with the Spanish.

Their main Christmas celebration is called La Posada. Which is a religious procession that reenacts the search for shelter by Joseph and Mary before the birth of Jesus.

During the procession, the celebrants go from house to house carrying the images of Mary and Joseph looking for shelter.

Santa Claus is not predominant, but the bright red suit is represented in the traditional flower of the season.

On Christmas Day, Mexican children break a piñata blindfolded, which has candies inside.

A Christmas tree is a decorated tree, usually an evergreen conifer such as pine or fir, traditionally Associatedwith the Celebration of Christmas. An artificial Christmas tree is an object made to resemble such a tree, usually made Frompolyvinyl chloride (PVC).

Saint Nicholas, in many western cultures, is said to bring gifts to the homes of the good children during the late evening and overnight hours of Christmas Eve, December 24.

Tradition calls them visitors who, after the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, would come from foreign countries to honor and deliver rich symbolic gifts: gold, frankincense and myrrh.
