Event-Tourism as a Revitalization Factor of Tourism in the Kazakh Section of the Silk Road A.Artemyev, V. Salnikov, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Kazakhstan

Event tourism – one of the youngest, but sought after in various directions of international tourism. Each year the Event tour attracts more and more tourists from all around the world. According to the calculations of sociologists in the foreseeable future visits to a various events would be the main goal for more than 10% of international tourists

The task of promoting tourist arrivals incorporated in the development strategy of Kazakhstan's tourism, correlated with long-term plans for economic and social development. Kazakhstan has significant historical and cultural heritage, economic and intellectual human potential. In fact, brands are formed on a number of key images, making the state recognized in the international community.

According to the UNWTO General Secretary Taleb Rifai, as expressed by him on the IV Astana Economic Forum May 3, 2011, an event such as the 7th Asian Winter Games, played in the formation of Kazakhstan's tourist public image more important than all the branding events of the last 7 years.

Preparations for the Asian Games had a positive impact on the infrastructure of cities. The «Almaty» airport, Big Almaty Ring Road and stock of vehicles have been upgraded. Electrical network communications have been upgraded as well, completely refurbished sports complexes of Medeu and Chimbulak.

Winter Universiade in Almaty, according to organizers, will be the most innovative in the history of university sports. Will be realized the most daring and original ideas, in particular in the field of environmental conservation. These ideas will affect the organization of traffic flows, architectural and design ideas, new technologies, ticket sales and information support, etc. For example, all vehicles of the Universiade will be translated into low emission fuel. For the construction of Athletes Village will use the latest ideas in energy conservation. For organizational and logistical processes will actively apply new solutions in information and communication technologies based on mobile communications.

Ethnographic sketches were presented to the guests at the special events venues. The tent have been introduced as a open place next to it– taykazany (huge vats for cooking), and little to one side – altybakany (Turkic swing). It is demonstrated the daily life of the ancient village.

In 2010 Festival is held in Almaty Apples (Apple Fest), which should return the status of the southern capital «of apples» and begun to revive the famous apple varieties. For the second year the festival attracts participants and spectators from around the world (USA, Russia, England, Hungary, China, Kazakhstan)

The orientation of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the reception of large international and regional exhibitions and conferences due to its favorable geopolitical location. Event – a great way to not only attract foreign tourists to the country, but also a fashion event, able to interest tourists to visit the State for other purposes. However, the hosting of mega-events – is not the only way to develop a tourism event in the country. Multi-confessional and rich culture of all peoples living in Kazakhstan can serve as a good «source» event. Developing and promoting the international market, national and local festivals, carnivals and festivals, thematically related to the Silk Road brand, you can create a steady stream of international tourists event.

With a significant potential for the organization of reception and service of foreign visitors of various rank, Kazakhstan remains the scene of major political, economic and social transformation, which has attracted the attention of the international community. At the same time, the strategic objective is to provide not only «sites» under the major international events, but also the creation and promotion of its own, an original event-product.
