OBAMA 2008 ELECTION EPHEMERA By Wendy Ball – Attipoe LIS 654, February 5, 2012

Project Description This digital library will feature ephemera from the 2008 campaign and election of Barack Obama. The items were created by individual craftsmen, artists, and designers for sale on Etsy.com from December 2008 – February The items reflect the attitudes and emotions in the popular culture surrounding this historic election. All items were purchased by Wendy Ball-Attipoe from their creators and are being donated by her for display on the Obama 2008 Election Ephemera Digital Library. Potential Extensions: Down the road, incorporate and compare similar material generated by the 2012 campaign and election cycle.

Collections & Descriptions There will be two collections: Campaign Buttons and Folk Art Item Type: Omeka Item Type #6, Still Images; static visual representations of the items 10 items will be featured in each collection Descriptive Metadata: A description of each object such as woodcarving or fabric. The dimensions and physical size of the original image will also be included.
