What Kind of Songs? Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs – Isa. 12:1-6 Thanking & praising God Addressing, teaching and admonishing (warning) one another Know and mean what you sing – 1 Cor. 14:14-17 Does your singing please God AND encourage those around you?
Not Just In the Assembly We sing when gathered together for a specific purpose – Matt. 26:30 But also whenever we want; whenever we need lifted up – Acts 16:25-26 And singing will not end when this life does – Rev. 5:9- 14 Do you take these songs with you wherever you go?
Conclusion Singing together in one accord should encourage us, teach us, bring us together, praise God’s greatness, and thank Him for all His wonderful works. If our singing is not doing that, why not? What can you do to improve our worship to the Lord in song?
