Multiplying Decimals Multiply the numbers as if they are ordinary numbers. Count the total number of decimal places in the two factors. The number of decimal places in the answer must equal the total number of decimal places in the two factors. Add as many zeros as you need between the decimal and the answer to get the needed number of decimal places
