Caution: don’t reinforce misconceptions –Study: 70% of college engineering students reverted back to misconceptions they had prior to taking an intro mechanics course –Study: intro level college math course; same test given day 1, last day, 1 year later; “misconceptions” measured: 17%, 4%, 7%. –Heavy boots: Many independent tests; more than 40% of college students get it wrong immediately after a intro study of gravity
