 Who might distribute our film?  The company that would be distributing our film would be picture house as the majority of the films that they distribute are independent films. This would mean that our film would get national screenings and therefor a wider audience.  The next institution that would be distributing our film would be film four, as they would be our main funding company film four and they would have the TV premier and the rights to screen the film on TV. This would mean that our film would get a second national screening and it could reach a wider audience again as it easily accessible to the majority of the population.  Which category does your film fall into?  Our film would be classed as an independent film as it would be filmed on a smaller budget as we wouldn’t be back by a conglomerate film company and we have a more refined audience that we are targeting.

What is the difference between mainstream and independent films?  Independent films:  Independent films do not have as a big budget and they usually have a smaller target audience that they are targeting. They are mainly produced outside a major film studios system but they are still at a feature film length. They don’t often have as bigger stars in the cast list. These films are shown at selected theatres.  Mainstream films:  Mainstream films are often targeting a larger audience and they usually have very large budgets. They will have big names that will be featured in the films and they usually work with big name studios. These films are distributed to a wide range of movie theatres.
