European Qualifications Framework n Aims to develop a European-wide workforce that is mobile and flexible and to aid lifelong learning n Facilitates moving between countries in Europe n Enables comparisons between qualifications in different countries

Qualifications and Credit Framework in the UK n Flexible way of recognising and rewarding skills and qualifications n All units and qualification will have credit and a level n Credit may be at Award, Certificate or Diploma level n Will replace Health and Social care National Vocational Qualifications

Qualification work streams n Include:- n Preparing for work in the care sector n Physical disability n First aid n Activities organiser n End of life care n Leadership and management in care services

National Vocational Qualification in Health and Social care n Levels 2,3 and 4 n Children and young people or Adults n Core and optional units

NVQ levels n Level 2 is the National minimum standard n Levels 2 and 3 are for those who provide direct care or supervise and manage others n Level 4 for those who work in senior roles
